Some cracking fish there.I had a great seatrout season over here last year though with all the high water. Caught two right lumps of white trout 5lb & 6lb and I know of another 5lb fish being caught. Got a few between 2 and 2.5 lb as well so great season overall. Even caught them well up a river system, right up near the top end of a tributary of the main river where you wouldn't think you'd find white trout. The high water was brilliant as it brought the fish into the upper systems earlier than usual and where normally you had a trickle you had nice pools.

Chalk it down! Love catching sea trout on any method but the best is fly at night...bring on the mild air, cloud cover, bats flying and sea trout jumping everywhere! If this mild weather coming hangs around and we don't get too much rain then you never know, we might be catching sooner than later! Great lumps of trout there beads.

We didn't see any salmon at all the water was so low it was unreal, pools were gone and the river which could be 70ft wide was down to 20ft, I've never seen anything like it but trout were still moving up river we saw a few between 3lbs to 8lbs move up under the bridge in broad daylight in only 3 inches of water The fly that did most of the damage was a single size 8 long shank silver stoats with flash We were fishing really small flies as it was so low, a few lads said they saw a seatrout well over 25lbs right below one of the bridges they said they caught fish to 18lbs and fished the river 40 years and never saw a fish that size It would smash the record if it was caught

Some nice seatrout there yp, pity about the 9lber lost at the net, would have been spectaculour to have gotten a photo though. You haven't been missing much over here, one or two good nights then they seem to disappear and are just not taking. Rivers have never been as low. Rain badly needed as the levels are ridiculously low.
