was on the lower lee yesterday for a hour or so but didnt get any pulls or see any fish as reddie says the next band of rain is due tonight so hopefully it brings enough rain and the winds are chnging at the weekend too so its well worth a shot

I was up there a couple of days ago spinning - no joy. I also lost the ring lining from my rod, figured out what was happening when 2 casts in a row my line snapped as I was casting! Anyone know how to fix this (the ceramic lining is gone, the ring itself looks to be OK.

bring it over to tony in the angling centre and he will replace it for ya, you probably have to get a new ring but they are very cheap he will glue and varnish it for ya was up the dam tonight and it was on full load and didnt see a fish very dissapointed i thought we would have seen one or two moving anyway

I'll do that - hopefully with the weather change over the next few days the trout fishing will pick up anyway

Feck it I thought ye would have something! Maybe the water being left off is still very cold and the fish are not very active. The switch will flick soon

ya not too worried about it might go up again for the day tomorrow but there is a 48 hr weather warning so that might put a halt to it will see tomorrow

Was there last night didn't see a salmon but got a lovely brownie about 2lbs I will try it again tonight and report back

Thanks rrb Thank god it's been sorted but you have to walk down from the top gate as they seem to have it closed all the time which is a balls but at least they have it open for fishing

Yep he got another one alright I honestly don't know how he affords to fish the place, he is there at least 5 days a week We saw some fish there last night but didn't hook up with anything I say the dam will be open for another few days after all this rain

Was at the dam tonight for a few hours and managed to land and release my first fish of the season weighing about 9.5lbs which was very fresh Got him on my second cast in a toby and lost another bout half hour later

Well done Ger! Heard of few being caught down along the last few days to! Was told a tree stuck in the fish pass at Ballincollig was holding most fish up.

Ya they are doing the evening tickets still There were 5 of us on one side and I saw one angler on the other but may have been more there but I thi k you still have to walk down from the rd
