Well I'll get the ball rolling for my own local river. Season opens on February 15th this year for salmon. Its status is open so trebles allowed and you may take a fish. Spring fish this early are very rare although there is every chance as last year a fresh fish was taken on opening day. With a couple of fish already taken off the neighboring Lee, confidence is a little higher. I'll update with reports on here and hope to see some of you on its banks this coming season.

River opened today and we were lucky to have perfect water for it, around 0.3m on the gauge in Bandon. Nothing fresh to report, still plenty of old fish around. Caught 3 myself and lost one this afternoon, plenty caught by others also throughout the day. Hope they go back to sea soon as there's plenty water there now, and has been for ages, to take them back. The condition of the kelts was brilliant, probably late running fish just after spawning like what has happened on the Blackwater.

1st fresh spring fish was caught on Saturday the 16th at the weir in Bandon on fly around 6lb weight. Brilliant to see and hopefully we can build on it over the coming weeks. River is at a lovely height and dropping very slowly which should be a sign of dry weather to come.
